Assembly protest brings Wales together.

They came in by the coach load to bring their protests to the Welsh Assembly on April 29th. People from every quarter of Wales brought their concerns and anger in a peaceful demonstration of people power.

BBC windfarm video report - Wind power under scrutiny. The benefits of wind energy have been questioned after a study found wind farms produce less electricity than anticipated.

Accident shuts down windfarm. Neither safe nor green

72% of viewers voted against wind factories after a Wales Tonight special. Muliple voting was filtered out and so certain councillors can no longer claim the silent majority may be for wind factories.

Following an exchange of letters, Ann Clywd, Westminister Parliamentary Member for Cynon Valley met group representatives to discuss the issues concerning residents facing the wind factory threat. Having learned of the curious (to say the least) lack of disclosure she has written to the local authority urging openess and public consultation.

Hundreds of Cynon Valley residents turned out in the rain for the protest walk on Saturday 13th January. Lead by the local ramblers association the group walked from the Dare Valley Country Park Visitors Centre up onto the Bwllfa and the Darren to mark the very site picked out for the proposed wind farm. This beauty spot which attracts visitors from around the world looks over the entire Cynon Valley. The group voiced their dismay at  this recently restored area being once again threatened with industrial vandalism. See more pics of the walk in the gallery 

Surprises from meeting of Protection Group with developer and RCT Councillor:

Developer admits that this project is about profit.       Developer's parent company to pick up £1.5 million contruction deal.      57 copies of the developer's applicartion, including the controversial enviromental statement, were given to RCT for public consultation, one is known to have been lodged in Hirwaun's part time library, a second lodged after protest in Aberdare library but staff warned not to make it available to public.      What happened to the others?        Councillor had no explanation for the suppression of these documents.
